people fly into cities for comic-con. comics can be violent. but these people don’t get put on no-fly lists. yet the conservatives who were defending our dear leader aren’t allowed to fly. this is very confusing.

If the GOP didn't hold Trump accountable for the last 4 years when they basically enabled his behavior and used him, why would they suddenly do it now?

I love the Lincoln Project trolling Donald, but I can't forget that the Lincoln Project was co-founded by Steve Schmidt, McCain's Campaign Manager that picked Palin to begin with. Palin's rise is what evolved into Trumpism and what we have today. Before Trump rose to prominence because of the birtherism, Palin was the moron spouting non-sense and the one the MAGA crowd loved for her "straight talk".

I really wish argumentative reasoning was taught in schools. Probably 95% of the posts I've seen where people think they've made a clever point are actually just fallacies.

Being upset about BLM violence doesn't mean you can't also be upset about this riot.

Being sympathetic to BLMs aims doesn't mean you agreed with the violence and so doesn't mean you can't condemn the violence now.

Comparing police responses to two events is anecdotal evidence and does not reveal patters.

Being upset by Benghazi doesn't mean you can't be upset by this riot.

And most importantly, agreeing with someone on some political policies does not mean you're guilty when they riot. People can agree on policy and disagree strongly on methods.

Probably the biggest shortcoming in the current K-12 system nationally. Too much time spent on standardized testing, especially in the late secondary grades and not enough time spent on analyzing arguments and critical thinking. It's ages ago, but one of the greatest educational gifts given to me came from the knowledge/methods provided by my senior social studies teacher. He would assign passages from classic political philosophy texts one-to-a-student that we in turn would have to dissect and give an oral presentation after which he would ask questions. We were too young and inexperienced to fully appreciate the texts, but we did learn how to analyze arguments and then defend the author's viewpoints.

Lol

Losers

Big tech at it again trying to silence political opponents. This time their own lawyers have bent the knee to the deep state.

It's only when Dems are in power, do conservatives once again start crying about freedom of speech.

They wanted Kaepernick blackballed and banned for taking a knee. lol

I took a logic class in college and it was one of the best classes I've ever taken. Joint offering of the philosophy and math departments. Still remember stuff like modus ponens. If people around here (or anywhere for that matter) just learned how to apply modus ponens and modus tollens it would improve the quality of discussion substantially.

Instead of teaching useless facts we need to teach kids how to think. I wasn't taught how to think until undergrad and wasn't seriously trained how to think until law school.

As you said, analyzing arguments. It's such a huge skill with so many applications.

Be careful, sounds like you're trying to radicalize children.

I know the discrepancy between teaching kids how to think vs. what to think, but when you start speaking generically like that you're going to get attacked by MAGA people who don't understand the difference, for trying to brainwash kids into being fascists.

The people who have believed Trump's conspiracy theories from election day to this day, don't appear to be capable of critical thinking. They repeat and retweet whatever Trump, Powell, Lin Wood, Guiliani have been spouting.

We've seen how encouraging adults to be adults and wear a mask has turned political.

I've watched sturg try to delegitimize and make a mockery of mask usage weekly since the pandemic started.

I'm pretty sure after the Biden mask mandate we're gonna get the Harris diaper mandate. Those magats wont be able **** wherever they want anymore. Tyranny!

I mean, they are talking about pronouns to use for people

But this seems right below that crazy (cause obviously trans stuff will always be number 1)

I would like to officially congratulate the Trump Administration on a great achievement: for the first time since the Civil War we will have a transition of power for which there is a body count.

#MAGA
