Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

It's how my boss runs the company. Something I fully agree with. Do whatever you want outside of work as long as you don't bring it in the door with you.

So if an employee goes on Facebook and goes on a horrible racist rant that goes viral, you think that wouldn't reflect poorly on the employer and make them make a stance? What about if an employee goes on Facebook and shares sensitive information? What if said employee trashes you on social media? Having no social media policy is a failure. Most people don't police people on facebook, etc. but without it written out you have nothing to counter them.

Let me guess

You still didn’t read the article

“Celebrating the murder of a Black man at the hands of police demonstrates a profound absence of humanity. The mock valentine underscores the highly problematic, and frankly, racist perceptions that pervade the law enforcement culture regarding the communities we are sworn to protect and serve.

The callous nature of what’s alleged here is exceedingly disturbing, and it speaks volumes to law enforcement’s inability to recognize how harmful the use of unlawful force is to public attitudes about police. Decades of research have shown that lower levels of trust in police significantly decrease the likelihood that people will report crimes or cooperate with law enforcement. Actions like these ultimately have ramifications for community and officer safety alike.

Police, like the rest of America, must fess up to and tackle systemic racism head on. I want to applaud Chief Moore for his swift action and for taking this matter as seriously as is warranted. If these allegations are found true, the individuals involved have no place in law enforcement. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office will be looking into this matter to determine if the integrity of any of our cases may have been compromised by biased police work

Oh the humanity dc. free speech is dead is truly dead cause of that tyrannical statement

I’m looking for the thread where DC is telling Texans how stupid they are and their privatization and deregulation is the energy issue in Texas

You should start a thread on it. Would be fun to make fun of how useless wind energy is in bad conditions and how the only thing that worked for them was fossil fuel energy

Hey, you’re on point of the talking points

Again lol

Wondering if Texans are now ripe for educating what is and isn't the Green New Deal ?

The pandemic pretty much sold the HC end of it and this past week has been well, talk to someone from Texas
//////

The longer we go into 2021 one must be willfully blind, stubborn as a mule or in cahoots
to not see the toxicity of 30 years of Fox News

Hmmm

https://www.texastribune.org/2021/02/16/texas-wind-turbines-frozen/

"An official with the Electric Reliability Council of Texas said Tuesday afternoon that 16 gigawatts of renewable energy generation, mostly wind generation, were offline. Nearly double that, 30 gigawatts, had been lost from thermal sources, which includes gas, coal and nuclear energy."

"While wind power skeptics claimed the week’s freeze means wind power can’t be relied upon, wind turbines — like natural gas plants — can be “winterized,” or modified to operate during very low temperatures. Experts say that many of Texas’ power generators have not made those investments necessary to prevent disruptions to equipment since the state does not regularly experience extreme winter storms."

It's almost like, Texas is getting clobbered because they bet everything on black kept letting it ride and it finally failed.

What's dumb about what you're saying is there's wind turbines I know of in Plymouth NH, and they run in the winter. And it's a lot colder up here.

The electrical grid in Texas was deregulated and privatized. It was isolated from interconnected networks to avoid federal regulation. In other words, Republicanism strikes again. True to form, they blame Democrats. Also true to form, they blame a program that doesn't yet exist

The program they blame that is the Green New Deal, which has not even been enacted yet. It's like blaming people that came here to live from another planet. Oh wait, they do that too.

It will pass in two weeks and no one will talk about it again.

Non issue.

Texas is fine people are literally flocking there.

Texas is fine people are literally flocking there.

While California's have to unplug their toasters when the temp gets above 90 in the summer, Texas has issues issues in a once in a century ice storm.

This reminds me of when people took photos of empty grocery shelves in first week of pandemic and said capitalism was the issue

Still, Texas has subsidized green energy quite a bit over the years, which has created a larger dependence on things like wind... and as we continue to see, green energy just won't work when you need it most.
