It's how my boss runs the company. Something I fully agree with. Do whatever you want outside of work as long as you don't bring it in the door with you.
So if an employee goes on Facebook and goes on a horrible racist rant that goes viral, you think that wouldn't reflect poorly on the employer and make them make a stance? What about if an employee goes on Facebook and shares sensitive information? What if said employee trashes you on social media? Having no social media policy is a failure. Most people don't police people on facebook, etc. but without it written out you have nothing to counter them.
