ST 4

Good from today:
Pache getting another hit to opposite field
Smile good first start- one sequence threw a 79 change followed by 93 FB for the K
Luke pitched well
Ozzie with a dinger
Vodnik had great inning!!
Ervin got a hit
No injuries!

Dr. Doom is pure brilliance
I stopped doing the scouting reports on these guys because I felt they weren't really well received and most believe what the stats say, but as I've watched these guys come up, I have felt that Vodnik has....IT. He can sling it. He's one of my favorites.

I always appreciated those reports.

I've always loved reading your eyeball assessments of guys. Two-dimensional stats only show part of the story for guys during their developmental stage. Some guys put up numbers that simply hit that AA wall while some players keep building on the skills they master at each level of competition. Figuring out who is who is the interesting part of the equation.

There's no reason to cut Jackson loose. He can just go to AAA. Same with Camargo, but he's a bit more expensive.

There are 2,385,500 reasons for cutting Camargo and Jackson rather than sending them to Gwinnett.

That's the difference in what they'll be paid if they're still on the roster after Opening Day.

I always appreciated those reports.

Oh for sure. I probably sound worse than I meant...I know you, 50 and many others were appreciative. Bad choice of words. I am hoping when things open up to see the lower classes and rookie ball again. Here's hoping.

So we had today the first game that was on TV (at least DirecTV) and not a single post about it. Wilson looked good. The lineup was kind of a nothing-burger though. Langeliers had a couple AB's. Waters got a hit. I found it odd that even though it was a 7-inning game, the Pirates batted in the bottom of the 7th with a lead.

Was Sandoval in the best shape of his life....?

I wouldn’t get too excited about Wilson. Some seriously hard hit balls for outs today.

The most intriguing thing to me was William Woods. He was 97-98 on the TV gun and even touched 99 once. Slider got some uncomfortable swings, and he even showed a 91-92 mph firm changeup that he got a ground out with. I’m intrigued.
