What do you want them to do? Screaming about how they are just lazy and selfish (same **** most people say about depression and suicide, by the way) does absolutely no good. Recognizing that there are challenges that are having an effect on the situation, acknowledging those challenges, and addressing those challenges, makes it possible for the individual to be able to do the rest. It is the same thing as taking medicine for depression. I struggled far too long thinking it was just a matter of being in the right mental place, and that I could work myself out of it. But there was another issue at play that I had no control over. When that was addressed with medication, I was better able to do the other things that help. This is the same for people struggling with obesity. If you really cared about them being a burden on you and all that other stuff you mentioned, then you would support the efforts that are ongoing to put these people in the best possible situation to overcome it. This is not achieved by calling them lazy, selfish, or losers. It is not accurate, and, worse for the topic at hand, it is not helpful.
