No All Star Game in Atlanta This Season?

Such an unforced error by Manfred. He could have just said "We disagree with the state level voting law but find it would be even more unfair to punish the local community by moving the game. The local community was not responsible for the law and should not suffer for it."

Instead they basically picked sides against a fair portion of its viewership for no real benefit. I'm just sitting her laughing. I'd love nothing more than to see MLB face plant. Every act like this is just another step on that road.

don’t like when the all-powerful market opposes your feelings huh bro?

Answer his question “woke brah”...use that free WiFi at the Starbucks you’re at...What in this bill is racist in intent? Specify...support your position...

Actually having to defend a position isn't something people like to do these days. Much easier to be a wind-up toy for whatever political party he/she worships

for me, with someone like him, there’s just no point in wasting my time. he can read, he can google. not a single argument he makes is in good faith, literally ever, so there’s absolutely no point in wasting my time *shrug*

I still don't understand how 81 games (hopefully more) are allowed, but not the ASG. It's sorta like mlb is hypocritical.

Will mlb allow vendors to ID for alcohol sales in parks? Seems racist to me

They say they will still honor Aaron in this years all star game, if so, the only logical place that makes sense is Milwaukee....

watch it be LA or NY

classic.

he won't, because he can't.

anyone is welcome to, though

Look at Cobb County government. There are 5 members of the County Commission, all are women and three are black women (including the commission chair). Baseball denied these leaders far more important tax revenue than they did the State of Georgia. What an idiot Manfred is.

I wonder if AA had made roster decisions based on expeced revenue from this game.

I don't see how this is a proper response.

that's before even getting down to the fact that the bill actually expanded voting, and does not restrict voting in any way imaginable

You must have missed the part of the transition where Trump actively and openly dogged Kemp and GA elected GOP officials for saying there was no fraud in GA...But you’re so fckn woke I can feel it through keyboard. How can such a blinded fool like you and many on here like such a manly sport like baseball??

actually baseball is kind of shi shi la la compared to say rugby

I really find it rich that a guy in an office in New York is trying to tell Georgia how to run its state. Maybe Manfred should call for the resignation of the sexual predator running the state Manfred is actually sitting in before telling Georgia what to do.

I'm interested to know what contracts MLB has with the Braves and/or Cobb County about the All Star game. I can't imagine there's not something. At the very least there has likely been detrimental reliance by both the Braves and Cobb County which could make MLB liable. It wouldn't surprise me if MLB is going to have to write some very, very large checks.

I hope they get sued into oblivion.

The law does not restrict voting in any capacity. I have asked on these boards for a week for an example how and not a single person can name one. All these woke corporate statements don't mention it either. This MLB statement didn't either. Tyrant Biden didn't either. Psaki can't tell us why either.

WaPo did a full analysis of it and declared it actually is an expansion on voting.

But half the country is convinced it is.

it's unprincipled (unmanly? uncircumcised?) of you to cite the WaPo only when it is convenient for you

ASG isn't allowed, but 81 regular season games ok?

The Atlanta Braves play 81 games in Cobb County - not the other teams. If the Braves won't stand against the bill themselves, good on MLB for standing against it as an entire sport.

As usual, the entire point is missed by those who feel they should be rewarded even though their views don't line up with the majority. This has absolutely nothing to do with being "woke" on any level. MLB sat down and talked with the Players Association, club management, club employees, and plenty of others before concluding that the strong majority of those directly involved in the sport supported taking this position. This isn't about sticking it to either party, the citizens of Atlanta and the surrounding areas, or a way to extend penalties against the Braves' organization for the rules Coppy so blatantly broke.

This proposed legislation that a pretty substantial percentage of our society on top of those directly or indirectly employed by MLB opposes, and it's MLB's way to express that. Good for them.

It's one of only a handful of sources the wokesters will blindly believe

As opposed to the *hit Trump and Q spout, right?
