No, but I haven't done comparison of his salary vs. others at his position. He's not an all star or anything.

No but thats because the PF position is stacked in teh West. Ibaka is a big time player and he is still 24. You just don't find big time shot blockers that can also knock down 18 footers among the elite in the league. To top it off, he is flashing more moves this year where he faces up to the rim and blows past people. It will never be a strength but if he shows it enough thats just a little more space that he has to hit his smooth jumper. You could make hte argument that he is the best PnR big man in the game. Those are easy assists for KD/RW.

Knew he had to be the best at something....

Well he was the best shot blocker in the nba until teams realized that they should stop driving into the lane when he was in the game. Now he among the best PnR big men in the game. Do you deny this?

Unlike you I haven't watched every NBA game to determine this. OFf the top of my head, I would assume Aldridge is a pretty good PnR big man.

I think its clear he is among the best PnR man. He doesn't have enough success putting the ball on the floor in a roll situation to be the best.

It helps having KD/RW as well.

But you have to admit that you didn't think Ibaka would be this good when I was pumping him up many many years ago.

Ibaka is a beast.

His contract is without question a bargain for the traits he brings.

Best shot blocker in the league, mid-range jumper which is money, good in the P&R, much improved rebounder.

Only 24 years old.

Serge is the key for OKC making a deep run though, provided if Russ is healthy and if he's not, they are done.

Yeah, no question to me that Ibaka might actually be underrated by people, at least this season. His development might have taken a little longer, growing up in the war-torn Congo and all, but he's doing a lot this year while not doing too much.

PFs that are better than Ibaka:

Melo

Love

Blake

LMA

Boogie

AD

Horford

Bosh

Monore

ZBo

Timmy

Millsap

Dirk

How exactly is he underrated?

Continuing to underrate OKC players. I remember a list that you made many years back of all the players Durant wouldn't be better then.

I can't wait to look at this listing in a year from now.

Everyone has smartened up in the NBA and elite rim defenders are worth their weight in gold. Why do you think a guy like HIbbert gets the money he did? In terms of overall value to a team Ibaka is better then quite a few guys on that list.

Of course he is underrated. Unless you watch them play consistently, you don't realize just how much of an impact he has on the game. Thats why just using stats is pointless. But, when you use them together with watching the game then you have something.

Presti didn't even blink twice about signing Ibaka over Harden. It was always the right move at the time.

Bosh, Horford, Duncan are all C's.

Melo isnt a PF, and if you list him, might as well list LeBron.

Who is Boogie.

Millsap, ZBo, Monroe arent better.

Dirk probably is.

PF is crazy deep, so.

You guys need to open your eyes and realize what Ibaka does for the team. Rim protection is highly sought after in the current NBA. Its all about forcing teams to shoot long 2's. Everyone is closing hard on three point shooters and funneling people into the paint. When you have an elite shot blocker teams will shoot more long 2's. This is where the NBA is and why shot blockers are highly valued.

Ibaka is ABSOLUTELY more valueable/better (whatever way you want to put it) than ZBo and Monroe and quite a few others on that listing.
