Ronald Acuna is now a better hitter than prime Mike Trout.

Trout has a good chance to be when he retires

Acuna is not better based on two weeks

No, he doesn't. Not even the best CF of the past 30 years (Ken Griffey Jr)

Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Ted Williams. Off the top of my head.

Better players, better hitters.

Do you open the can of worms and say Babe Ruth is better? His stats certainly are, but comparing the eras is silly, IMO.

Barry Bonds is the best player I've ever seen.

Barry Bonds hit .362 and homered more than he struck out in 2004.

Mike Trout wears Barry Bonds pajamas.

Do those pajamas come with HGH

Most players were juicing from the late 80s to mid 2000s.

Many are still juicing now.

Improving your body is not cheating. I guess we need to ban modern players from protein shakes and gyms if it is.

The ostracization of Barry Bonds is one of the worst things to ever happen to the sport.

Happened to Clemons and Palmeiro too. Why should bonds be treated differently? Notice I put 2 different races as examples since you like making stuff about race.

BTW, 15 lbs of lean muscle in an offseason in your 30s isn't just improving your body

Science changed. The game changed.

You deal with it. You don't ostracize your biggest stars.

Chicks dig the long ball, give them more long ball.

A few things. Eras matter and your performance relative to those eras is a big thing. Ruth played in a segregated league. Williams and Mays played with starting pitchers going all game with no specialized relievers to come at them. How does that effect their relative stats? Hard to say.

The facts are this. Through Trouts 28 season (which should be noted he got short changed on WAR in 2020)

WAR: 3rd All-Time at 75.1
WRC+ 8th at 172

The only modern day players in his realm in WRC+ are Thomas at 176 and Pujols at 168. Notably 1B who dropped off hard into their 30s.

In WAR only ARod and Griffey are in the top 10 through age 28 but Trout still eclipses them.

All-time is subjective. But he's going to be the best modern day player and it won't be close.

Imagine thinking using steroids regularly is “improving your body” gtfo with this troll BS

Do "proteins shakes and gyms" make you gain 30 lbs of muscle in 3 months?

Steroids are illegal in every sport for a reason. They give you a clear athletic edge. If Bonds and others didn't see a significant increase in performance, they wouldn't have taken it.

Trout is easily better then Griffey, and it isn't remotely close. He might surpass Griffey in career WAR this very season, and Trout isn't even 30 years old. Griffey is HOFer with over 99% vote on the 1st ballot.

It's unlikely Trout reaches Willie Mays since he'll need to average 7 WAR through age 38 and the COVID season didn't help. But he'll likely finish Top 15-20 in total WAR, which makes him an inner circle HOFer.

Yeah going from a wr in your mid 30s to a middle linebacker is totally just ”improving your body”
Should’ve done it earlier I guess!

Acuna's plate discipline update:

11.6% BB rate
13% K rate

Mike Trout has never had a K rate that low over a full season.

Fun to watch.
