Someone please explain how this is obstruction. Where was the pitcher supposed to go to field the ball?

Wait. That might be worse than our BS call against the Faillies. He wasn’t even in the baseline and he tossed to first before the runner even caught up to him. That ump should be fired immediately. That was personal not objectionable

Yikes. That is terrible.

if anything the runner is inside the baseline there clearly. that is probably legit the worst call
i’ve ever seen.

“worst call i’ve ever seen” been said a lot lately...

Lol the umps keep raising the bar. This call was legitimately one of the worst calls due to the complete subjectivity taken by the umpire. The fielder was in fair territory while the runner is the one who borderline ran out of the baseline. How is the runner awarded first? Lol you can even see the line marking fair and foul territory and how the fielder never even crossed over into foul territory. What the literal ****? I’d like to know what New York saw when they were buzzed.

Byron Buxton 4/4 today with a SB. triple short of the cycle.

hopefully the guy is finally living up to his prospect status. great year to have him on my fantasy team.

honestly its all about health with him... seems like he's always about to take off and is on fire... then gets a random nagging injury and can't find it again when he gets back

Yeah. Umpiring this season has been a complete joke.

They will just get worse until there's public accountability.

Well the commissioner sucks, the replay umps care more about protecting their own and sticking with the calls on the field, and they’re unionized. So I’m guessing they’ll never get better?

You can laugh at both.

Not laughing at either TBH - just a perfect example of the reasons NOBODY should ever talk absolutes when it comes to baseball.

I would have loved to have Duvall back as part of a platoon if there would have been a DH - this stretch just points out how big an outlier his 60 game 2020 really was since he's back to normal against RHPs. I still think he and Rosario would have been an awesome platoon pair if Ozuna hadn't been brought back and you could trust Snitker to stick to a true platoon - I'm just not sure that's possible.
