You can’t fix stupid. As it’s been mentioned within the last page, your people were found to have knifes, stun guns, and 40 suspects were charged with entering the Capitol with deadly or dangerous weapons. Here’s a tip, a deadly weapon doesn’t have to be a gun. I know that’s a shocking piece of information for you.
As for why your people didn’t exercise their second amendment rights to a level that would cause you to actually condemn them, I don’t know what to tell you. Your people aren’t exactly the smartest people in the world. Just look in the mirror and you’ll likely understand that.

I think the goal was more to intimidate Pence than to assassinate him.
The idea was to intimidate him into abrogating the constitution.
And they were encouraged to do so by very poorly chosen one.
Pence deserves a lot of credit for standing strong in the face of a violent mob. The people around here who try to minimize what happened not so much.

Claims that people stormed a major government building, with the intention of killing 2 of the 3 highest ranking officials in the country, with stun guns and pepper spray just aren't going to be taken seriously by serious people guys. Sorry, but it's really on you for falling for such a silly narrative. I expect CNN commentators like Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon to hyperventilate over the scary MAGA hats and camo pants. It's more surprising to see it from people who I know live in the real world.

I'd say of mostly peaceful protests over the last 18 months or so, it would rank towards the bottom half of top 10 bad moments in this country
Much less deadly and destructive than many others. And at least the trespassing was public property instead of innocent civilian private property. But year very bad moment for sure

They didn't try to kill Pence. But they sure wanted him to cave to the pressure not to perform his constitutional duty.
January 6 was an attack on our constitutional arrangements for ensuring an orderly transition of power. Not something to be minimized, especially when these attacks are continuing in various forms.
