I wear hats a lot. And hats coming with a flat brim is normal. You have to break it in. I need to replace my hat. I'm thinking this, but part of my problem is I'm a dirtball so the white on my hats turns dingy pretty quickly.

Not fifteen years ago. Back then you could actually put a solid crease in the bill. The way these gangster hats are made now, you practically ruin the hat if you try to bend the bill at all.

Is it me or does J-Up look a little skinnier than last year?

I hope so, maybe it will give him back some of his lost agility in the OF and on the bases. He didn't run nearly as much last year as I was expecting. Same goes for Heyward. Only 2 stolen bases for Heyward? WTF?

I don't think Jason was comfortable sliding on his stomach after the surgery if he didn't have to. Before that I think Jason was staying at first more for Freddie and Justin was hitting a lot of HR's during that time.

Could be. I really wish he would learn to slide feet first.

Doesn't bother me. Reyes butchered his ankle sliding feet first so anything can happen. Also didn't Simmons tweak his ankle going feet first? It's sliding headfirst into first base that's dangerous. Plus I enjoy that swim move Jason does to avoid tags especially at home plate.

I get scared when he slides, period. He's a big dude, and moves so fast that the idea of the impact is just scary, whether it's his ankle or his arm.

Sliding is dangerous period but guys get hurt more sliding head first then they do feet first.

I feel like that's not really accurate.

Anytime you slide into a base with your hands on the ground you're at risk of getting hurt even if you're slightly decelerated sliding footfirst.

So you're saying guys don't get hurt more often from sliding head first than feet first?
