GDT: 7/26 Braves @ Muts....Braves get the deathblow

We've been right below .500 with a gaping hole in LF, ****ty bullpen, offensive black hole at catcher for most of the time and starting pitching injuries. Even without Acuna, it's not out of bounds or being a homer to see whether a LF bat, TDA back and better relievers could help win the division, keep home crowds up the final two months and at least have a shot at beating Milwaukee in the NLDS. Problem is we've waited too long.

That's a lot of issues to overcome just to get back to par with the talent level at the start of the season.

Well our pitching dug us a hole early the injuries kept us from climbing out of... it is what it is at this point. We won't make noise with this roster. You aren't wrong, but thats a lot of things that have to break just right.

Agreed. We'll just have to see how it plays out the next three days. If we lose two or three, the decision is easy to sell. If we win two, Idk. If we win all three (99.5% sure this isn't happening), we've gotta at least try by late Friday afternoon.

Marte, TDA, Ynoa and a late-inning right-handed reliever for the back end of games, and this team would be 7-4 at worst post all-star break. I'm not saying it'll all work out, but it's not outrageous to think it's worth trying if you're within four games with two months left.

Yeah, I don't see the harm in getting a rental since we have some guys coming back and the Mets haven't sunk us yet. It's weird to see a board cry about the possibility of going for it without mortgaging the future.

I mean, it's also a valid point though because the farm needs some replenishing. I just don't see where teams are going to cough up a bunch for our potential trade pieces. I don't see Freeman being traded whether we think they should or not. I guess one thing that could help is if Scherzer goes to one of the NL West teams, one of the others could get more desperate for Morton.
