Braves made a bid for former Brave Adam Duvall, who has 5 HR vs. them this season. But Marlins either didn’t like the offer or don’t love the idea of trading Duvall to a divisional rival.

Sources: Max Scherzer trade talks have continued to intensify, and those close to the conversations believe a deal could be reached by late tonight. The Giants, Dodgers, and Padres are among the top suitors, but other clubs are involved.

As a baseball fan, I love this time of year. As a Braves fan, I hate it, knowing we are going to stand here holding our dicks in our hands

Already looking forward to AA talking about how the prices were too high to pay, although there are reports out there contradicting that statement.

Whadda ya mean?!? We asked about Duvall!

Mish: I can help with this one. Miami is not dealing anyone to Atlanta. So option #2.

so, no Marte either

I really don't want Duvall, but I am a bit surprised that the Marlins don't want to deal within the division. Maybe it's just the Braves. There seems to be a heightened level of animosity between the teams.

I think it’s trading within the division but the Marlins do hate the Braves more than most teams, which is why because we don’t even think about them normally

Wonder if AA would try to go to the Baltimore well and try to swing a deal for Mancini and one of their lefty relievers that are drawing interest. Then either target another righty reliever elsewhere or hope that Ynoa can fill that role toward the back end of the pen.

We will shop at Macy’s this year. Just that we will only buy a sock. Not even a pair. Just one sock. Then we can all marvel in awe of AA and how brilliant he has been.

it makes sense. We’re only a few tweaks away and have a couple big pieces coming back.

We are more than a few tweaks away, and the Mets have larger pieces coming back than we do. Lindor, Degrom, Carrasco, due back within the next 10 days and Thor due back in late August.

I’d be more worried as the Braves about who the hell we’d give up for Adam ****ing Duvall.

The Reds are 6 (wild card) and 7 games back of playoff contention. Maybe the hope is the NL West beats up on each other and loses a wild card team.

Guessing the bad feelings on the field have stretched into the FO. Seems like a pretty petty (and dumb) thing for Miami to do. But Duvall is pretty far down the list of OF options I would want us to consider if we're gonna be buyers (unless the Marlins were giving him away).
