Trades/acquisitions

This Marlins deal is exactly why it's hard to take anyone seriously who doesn't want to sell Morton. Two months of Starling Marte gets Luzardo. Imagine what Morton could return.

They could sell Morton and try to get a top 100 guy in return (if Atlanta pays the rest of Morton's salary) and still buy for 2022 and beyond. This would be ideal to me, but I highly doubt AA trades Morton (even to Tampa).

You haven’t been paying attention durning AA time if you expect him to really buy.

First of all, where did I say that I expect him to do anything? Secondly, he’s improved the team at every trade deadline sans last year when the team was broke. What he did in 2018 and 2019 is what he should be doing this year if we are truly buyers.

WHAT? Jomboy: I was told the Yankees were on the outside looking in with the Jays and Braves ahead of them until about an hour ago when the Yankees re-upped their offer 'big time'

The Texas Rangers will receive RHP Glenn Otto, 2B Ezequiel Duran, SS Josh Smith and 2B/OF Trevor Hauver as part of the package from the New York Yankees in the Joey Gallo trade, sources tell ESPN.

Fangraphs had Duran 122 overall, but that’s the only prospect in their top 130 rankings.

Good to know we were in on someone of that caliber.

Who else is out there?

Bryant? Ketel Marte? Buxton? Kepler? Story?

Seems like we all agreed in recent pages that Morton would return a top 50-100 prospect. You’re saying there’s only slightly greater than a 6% chance that a top 50-100 prospect would help this franchise?

I sort of doubt selling Charlie Morton would net a top 50 to 100 prospect.

If so, it might be worth doing regardless if the Braves are buyers or sellers.
