Trades/acquisitions

Dan Hayes MLB: Could be a wild day for the #MNTwins. Setting the over/under at trading 5 1/2 players today. Byron Buxton is the most intriguing player left on the board. Heard his market started to pick up last night. We'll see if they get it done.

No Buxton unless it's a discount. Kepler would be tops on the list of available players. Maeda is intriguing, though we don't really need SP amazingly.

Kenta Maeda also a possibility.

The Twins pulled off the biggest deal of Deadline day thus far by sending Berríos to the Blue Jays for two Top-100 prospects, but sources say they're not done. Plenty more to trade, including Michael Pineda, Hansel Robles, Tyler Duffey and possibly Max Kepler or Byron Buxton.

The Twins and Nats are demonstrating how to do a mini-rebuild in a lost season despite still being in a contention window.

This is a real tweet... I don't even know what to say.

This doesn't see too far off. Each Cub on their own probably warrants a 50. If they package them together they would want a single piece better than a 50, and Pache is a 55. Why else would they package them?

Adding in Ynoa is probably a bit steep, but the idea of centering it around Pache is reasonable. Folks don't seem to comprehend how impactful those 2 guys are to playoff teams...which the Braves probably aren't, and they should not be trading an asset like Pache right now.

LOL.

Buxton is absolute stud defensively and has improved offensively and he's African American and every Twins fan absolutely loves him.

And he's under control next year.

We should be offering a Berrios package.

I like the thought of Buxton. I mean our medical staff is great and keeping guys healthy.

Seriously though. He is the type of guy you cash in on if we can.

What should we offer if he was white? Just curious.

I would give up Pache if there was a commitment to making a play for Marte or another established CF in the off-season or if the front office was confident Waters will be ready to go beyond this year. I would think Ynoa would be critical to the team’s chances of success down the stretch and winning the division and possibly playing enough to beat Milwaukee in five.

I have no idea what the Cubs would be thinking but I find it hard to believe they wouldn’t ask for either Muller or Touki. Either way, the Braves are not trading for Bryant/Kimbrel.
