I actually think attacking Harris on this is off base. If bail is set by a judge and the defendant kills someone while out on bail, then it's a failure of the system, not the fault of the source of the bail money. Whether the defendant is a threat to the community is a consideration in whether bail is given and lets not forget that you have a constitutional right to a not excessive bail. If this guy had used a bail bondsman to get out then we wouldn't hear a word about this.
If you want to attack Harris on this it should be attacking her based on funds like this taking away some deterrence from law breaking. If people can break the law in protests (e.g. destroying property) and know they'll be bailed out by this fund and get nothing but a slap on the wrist, if that, then it can encourage illegal activities. That's not something that does anyone any good.
I attack Harris at the time for raising money to help thugs during a very dangerous time.
Now somebody is dead.
