The Coronavirus, not the beer

Got to admit, without looking at the actual study, the article is pretty convincing.

Its all good man. I'm just upset our government has decided to throw away decades of science in the name of controlling the population.

No harm no foul.

I was out of line yesterday and reflected on it last night. My bad.

Same message goes to you Zito.

We all get heated on here... we need to somehow get all of this research more transparent and less political

I've advocated for public debates televised on national TV on all sorts of issues.

Information is being censured and we need to reflect on why that is happening.

Its more than that though... there's a crap ton of blatant misinformation out there coming from both sides that's very cleverly packaged and convincing. Why I'm wary to just accept half the crap that is posted.

But thats why you need public debates that people can tune into. Have experts that defend 'their' positions.

Its the only way we get past the era of disinformation.

Alas, poor Yorick. He made a gallant try for natural immunity.

Just to clarify so there can be no confusion or doubt. The people I'm mocking in this post are those around here who have been advocating for natural immunity.

Far less gross than the anti-vaxx deza and advocacy for crocs like natural immunity and hydroxycholoroquine. Those kinds of activities actually kill people and have imposed enormous costs on society. The poor Yoricks of this world have been the victims. Though in some cases they have also been the perps at the same time. This is a certain rough justice in these perps being victimized by their own deza and idiocy.

But I 100% support their right to suicide via covid (aka making the gallant effort for natural immunity) as long as they don't pass on the costs of their choices to the rest of society.

Natural immunity appears to be much, much stronger than the immunity gained by vaccine, according to the data from Israel.

To enjoy the benefits of natural immunity, you first have to not die from the infection.

These two things can both be true…

the only problem is sometimes you die or get very sick trying to acquire it

but i 100% support people's right to go for it...as long as they don't stick anyone else with the bill

I just don't understand why someone with antibodies would have to take the vaccine. Seems dumb to me

Agreed. If you have natural immunity from surviving covid, you’re conferring the positive externality on society that would’ve come from the vaccine (more value, if the Israel data is right).

In a sample of more than 700,000 people, natural immunity was 27 times more effective than vaccinated immunity in preventing symptomatic infections.

If that turns out to be true, the total bill could very well be less if lower risk groups (say the under 40 crowd) all went that route versus all getting the vaccine

Oh? Did you say under 40?

I’ve heard that before.
