In my three indoor dining experiences last week in NYC, one wanted to see my vaccine pass before entering the restaurant, one waited until I was 3/4ths through the meal before asking, and one didn’t ask to see a vaccine pass at all. About what I expected.

Then there’s DC, which had no interest in a vaccine, but required a mask until you were seated at a table (where we have an agreement with the virus to not spread).

An i threshing and completely unrelated response to my question

Why doesn't NYC require people to show their papers on an entity in which it controls?

But to answer your question as I always do... yes, NY still has people.

Now my question is why does the city make those people show their papers to private businesses, but not to the massive public transportation system in which they control?

sounds like their commitment to tyranny is lacking

they need to pay more attention to how Australia does it

I I can definitively tell you whats it not... and that is public health

i suspect is they think there are more administratively efficient ways to mandate vaccines...that would be my guess

NY City has vaccinated over 80% of adults (presumably helped by a migration to Alabama of those who wish to remain unvaccinated)

The mandate they put in place for eating at restaurants did produce a notable bump up in vaccinations. In that regard it served its purpose. I know for those of you who are pro-covid this is a negative development.

Sure sure. Punish private businesses but don't hurt their own revenues.

All for our health

Lol what a clown

There are lots of laws that punish businesses. Environmental and safety regulations. Closing times. Drunk driving laws. I'm sure sales of booze would rise if those things didn't exist. But I guess if you are pro-covid these measures must be unbearable. Imagine being so distressed at a policy that has successfully persuaded more people to get vaccinated. Tough times for the pro-covid crowd.

But I thought we were only punishing the unclean folks so they aren't killing everyone?

Why on earth would they be allowed on the highly dense subway?!?!?!
