Is it true you don't need to show your papers to get on NYC subway?
At least as of last Thursday/Friday this is true

In my three indoor dining experiences last week in NYC, one wanted to see my vaccine pass before entering the restaurant, one waited until I was 3/4ths through the meal before asking, and one didn’t ask to see a vaccine pass at all. About what I expected.

Then there’s DC, that had no interest in a vaccine, but required a mask until you were seated at a table (where we have an agreement with the virus to not spread).
"The vaccine is nothing but a tool for oppression."
"The vaccines are very likely the cause of new variants."

An i threshing and completely unrelated response to my question
Why doesn't NYC require people to show their papers on an entity in which it controls?
But to answer your question as I always do... yes, NY still has people.
Now my question is why does the city make those people show their papers to private businesses, but not to the massive public transportation system in which they control?
It's always painfully obvious when you are stumped
I I can definitively tell you whats it not... and that is public health
Sure sure. Punish private businesses but don't hurt their own revenues.
