GDT 11/2/21: Braves @ Astros - World Series Game 6

I am still PUMPED! Some one pinch me just to make sure it is real. Now comes the question, how much you think made from our magical postseason run? I really think we need to make every effort to not just resign Freddie but also Rosario and Soler!

What a crazy season. We overcame huge injuries, a jinx forum name, snit stuck on repeat with dumb mistakes, an OF of almonte and heredia for a long stretch, a terrible pen early, Will smith being unbelievably bad in august, over half the board calling for a sell, and yet, world champs. Last year's ending was incredibly frustrating, but we won it during a real season this year, and that seems much more satisfying. Hats off to AA on down to the lowest poster here (me), braves' country.

incredible. still can’t believe it today. doesn’t feel real. no idea how this squad overcame everything but man they were on an absolute roll and just ran thru some really good teams. when Ronald went down i did not thin this could possibly happen. never ever been happier to be dead wrong.

Freddie made sure to put the ball in his backpocket to make sure Camargo didn't get it again.

1. I thought the most interesting part post the final out was Freddie's reaction. He was elated, but he didn't head for the mound. Sort of stood behind it taking it in. Riley bypassed the mound and embraced Freddie. That kind of respect is why Freddie is worth whatever it costs to get him back.

2. I was struck by the fact that both Acuna and Soroka were with the team in Houston. Maybe it is standard for MLB organizations to have your injured stars traveling with you for the World Series, but I was really glad to see those guys weren't left on the outside looking in.

3. I don't know what the Braves do with Swanson. He's basically Jeff Blauser, right? Makes all the defensive plays you need, has a good enough stick to be a good starting shortstop, but doesn't have a big enough bat to make him an irreplaceable star. Maybe Swanson gives a hometown discount? He professed his love for all things Atlanta. If he doesn't, will the Braves want to pay market price? Do they let him play it out or is he potentially on the block?

4. Did Soler catch lightning in a bottle or was the beginning of this season in KC the apparition? I suspect someone will overpay with the DH apparently becoming universal. Not certain I want it to be us.

5. Rosario was a great story. The sequel will never match the original. Am I wrong?

The morning after, still hard to believe. When Acuna went down, I said to friends: "well, our season is over", little did I know the turnaround that would happen.

Had people message me through the game to see how I was doing...I refused to even talk about the game until the final out, didn't want to jinx anything.

Been looking at the 27 game package (I live out of state), especially since I work remotely now. Time to look into it again! Opening day at Truist Park should be packed!

Man, what a ride last night. I wasn't able to post at all last night, but I did get to go back through all the comments.

Way to go HH.. if this is purgatory, then I want to stay for a bit
second Turbo on his comment.. Garmel and Slippy are the real MVP's.. we know what Slippy brought, but Garmel also posted every game in the positive thread to reverse the curse
Glad Arch was mentioned along with Rico. Arch was a great member of our community and his games were always a treat.
I am also ok with doubling my annual membership fee.. but a big shout out to our fearless leader, thanks for keeping the lights on at the best little corner of the interwebs.

Now resign FF and Soler and lets do this again.
