Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

I think the Olson stuff is one of two things, either the A's leaking a bogus rumor to drive up Olson's price or else the Braves leaking that to try to pressure Freeman to concede something in the negotiations.

Would love to know what the prospect cost would be. We all love Freddie, but I feel like there’s a route to take where trading for Olson and using the saving elsewhere could actually make us better.

Bryant in LF please.

The Braves have non-tendered Richard Rodriguez, per source.

Pure conjecture on my part, but I wonder if there's something more than simply performance here. He did alright until the last couple of weeks of the season, but he wasn't on any of the post-season rosters and didn't take part in the celebration. Something just doesn't fit right.

He helped us hold it together for a while, but that trade stings some now

Does it? I think they'd effectively given up on Bryse Wilson, for better or worse.

Also: Bryse Wilson probably gets a ring, right?

I think AA saw that 5.57 FIP since the sticky stuff ban and didn't want him anywhere near the post-season roster. Could of been something else though.

I’d give it to him just for his performance in last years NLCS

Ditto.

And I hope he figures something out with the Pirates. But the Braves just didn't have the luxury to afford him developmental innings at the MLB level.

I've kind of wondered whether it wouldn't be mutually beneficial for MLB and the PA to come up with some kind of negotiated solution to sticky stuff. You had hitters saying they wanted the pitchers to know where the ball was going, pitchers who said it had gone too far, etc. Just approve something that makes sense? Although it didn't really seem like there was a huge explosion of wild pitches and HBPs, so the whole grip argument could have been justification.

I just thought he'd be in the parade. Seemed odd that he just dropped off the face of the earth.
