I'm not curious enough to look it up, but I do wonder if this was in his campaign platform. If so I can use the old "they voted for this" with an even bigger shake of my head than usual.

One of the great hypocrisies of our court system is the way the equal protection clause is ignored in situations like these. Systemic racism indeed, if not the way our elites would choose to define it. If I was a state governor I would push for legislation to investigate and punish any DA who didn't prosecute most offenders reasonably.

I'm really wonder about the reasoning behind no prosecution.

You create such a level of anarchy that only a strong showing by Federal/State governments can stop it. Then you get the population used to occupation forces with extreme tactics.

This touches on a huge problem. Except the decision not to prosecute is used to protect cops. Even when officers are caught committing perjury or lying in their police reports which is also a felony they are rarely if ever charged. Amber Guyger would never have been charged if not for public backlash. Derek Chauvin as well. The DA can literally say "yes thats a crime but I dont want to prosecute". When there isnt a victim to the crime I am fine with that but when there is a victim who suffered real consequences as a result of the crime there should be some mechanism for us to get a prosecution.

I think it’s at least fair to wonder if this is all a backlash to COVID/Democratic governance or how much is cyclical due to Democrats gaining control of the government. There is always a lot of mobilization from the party not in control.

No doubt, but 325k is a huge swing. It also indicates a high level of approval for Desantis.

Yellowstone broke record for most-watched cable TV show in the last five years on Sunday, with more than 11million viewers tuning in live to the Season 4 finale
The Walking Dead set the record in October of 2017 with 11.4 viewers watching its Season 8 premiere
Kevin Costner series about rural America surpassed its own Season 3 finale live viewership - 5.2 million - by 81 percent

I don’t think it’s a coincidence, that a show that takes place in rural America is the biggest show on television.

Since I've never watched the show, what's all the complaining about Yellowstone going woke this year?

This is fair, but I think it’s worth keeping in mind that it’s Florida. Florida hasn’t had a Democratic Governor in over 20 years, has consistently had the state legislature run by Republicans, voted for Trump twice, and has two Republican Senators. I’m not trying to completely downplay the impact of the perception of COVID on the numbers, but having more registered Republicans than Democrats in FL feels a bit more like a course correction than a revolution.
