Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

Fried told CBS News that she had asked the governor to reopen state-run testing sites, which have been closed since May, before she found out about the stockpile.

"As of today," she said on Friday, "we still don't have any state-sponsored testing sites."

I live a click from Florida.
Had a friend, a niece and her daughter that were in contact and had to stand in line for over an hour.
Stand in line with people where even if my friend niece and her daughter are negative ( thankfully so)
who knows who you are standing next to and their condition !!

Is your point that DeSantis was powerless ?
Is your point he had incompetent appointments ?

Or is your point he just didnt give a scit about anything but his Presidential ambitions ?

I have to stand in line for over 2 hours in NY.

I’ll be waiting for your criticism of NYs government shortly....

Are you now obese ?

This is confusing but I live in a tyrannical state that doesn’t penalize employers for irrational testing.

I’ve tested weekly now for about four months. Never do anything differently and have yet to test positive. I guess eating healthy and running makes a difference.

we talk at home and have come to the realization that like motorcycle riding it isnt a question of whether, it is a question of when

I hope your good luck stands these tests
you have not been vaccinated if I recall.
Might want to look at the numbers in relation to vaxed and unvaxed.

And if you do have no intentions of vaxing, why test ?

My employer mandates me to test.

The percentage of adverse outcomes to the virus is statistically the same for my demographic vaxed or unvaxed.

You should understand the data more.

Really ?

And when asked where the AWOL Governor was there were 4 different answers in the first day followed by a New Years Eve Super Spreader with his cancer patient wife

This is Presidential timber reminiscent of Bridgegate's Chris Christie

So to be " intellectually honest" Governors and Presidents do have the power to ease the suffering and anxiety of their constituents.
If in fact the people of Florida are his main concern rather than 2024

1) Literally none of this has anything to do with how Florida is handling testing for COVID. DeSantis being there wouldn’t change anything.

2) I’m guessing that there aren’t very many people out there anxious about COVID testing sites whose anxieties would be lessened by having DeSantis around. It feels very much like an either/or sort of deal.

I'm sorry. Are you denying that hospitals are receiving incentives for COVID patients and COVID deaths?

Are you also using an article from April 2020 as your proof or 'fact-check'?

I don't think I said that. But whatever. You don't ****ing read anything and I couldn't care less.

It's so obvious when tv box talking points drop. Can always count on 57

Minor Uptick in florida?

Dec 8th had 1769 7 day average.

Jan 7th 56682

That's about a 3100% increase.

NYC over that same time went from 2275 to 39205 or about a 1600% increase.

NYC is the most densely populated area in the USA.

So you think the Florida spike is a policy error, then?

Are you comparing a state to a city? NY's 7-day avg on Jan 7th was 82,873

1) then why have a Governor if the attitude is fend for yourself.

2) DeSantis has the authority to create more ( or any) state-sponsored testing sights and by my understanding had the authority to release the stockpiled tests.
He was unavailable to answer questions and requests concerning tests to press, constituents and cabinet members.

Suppose Newsome of Cal. Was absent during fires

As I said, NYC, which was the topic.

Same generality is true of NYS too. Seems like about 7K to about 70K or about a 900% increase

I'm not sure where you're getting your numbers 82873 is very high when the last 7 days were 82074, 84202, 77859, 53276, 51698, 62526, and 85476. Which comes to around 71K and that's assuming I made no transposing errors. They could maybe to get to 82K they would need to average 113K or so cases on the not reported days yet to hit your average.

Maybe if he were there would be a lot less of them

Sure thing bud. You thought it was a lie and now you know it isn’t. Welcome to reality and how our government incentivized hospitals to report covid cases.

You're arguing old facts. That's the point. Literally what I said. What the argument was about was influenza and comorbidities which you haven't presented any data on. Again, I know you don't have this information.
