This is a pretty well done thread by a Canadian on the populist centered uprising by the truckers. There are obviously parts I disagree with and most here can pick those out without me having to, but the guy at least gets the gist of it. The thing that always frustrates me with these is the lack of second level thinking. "Right wing extremists," "Trump," "COVID" are always their causes. It started before Covid, and it started because most of those elites he mentioned (wealthy, academia, corporations, government, tech, media) were suddenly on the same side.

This should be the largest political realignment since at least LBJ. An authoritarian, corporatist Democrat party and a populist, blue collar Republican party. May we live in interesting times.

It's just hard to believe. I feel like I'm watching the opening of a ridiculously unrealistic movie, but it's real. This is the kind of stuff we complained about happening behind the Iron Curtain shortly before the Berlin Wall came down.

Each time you have a chance to take a stand against the tyrant's, you double down to defend their actions yet again.

At what point will they realize the mandate didn’t do anything ?

We have had to bypass a lot of useful information to get to this point where you have to question motive and intelligence.
