It's not empirical, but I think the argument can be easily made that Palin's stock is going up while Obama's continues to nosedive.
Obama's approval according to Gallop's national average is 42%. I'm assuming the Palin one you're citing is the 70/20 which is just her approval with republican primary voters. IN her own state, they have her losing to Hilary, (PPP) That should indicate that her national apporval rating isn't high.Sure if you want to compare Palin's favorability among registered Republicans compared to Obama's then you may wind up with that big of a gap.
