That's why (besides the moral reasons) I like turning Ukraine into another Afghanistan for them to break their teeth on with someone else's troops and our second rate weapons.

I get the idea but I first question the allegiances of the majority of the Ukrainian people (even in the west) and then how Putin will view an obvious increase in aggression from the US/NATO.

Putin may just stop at Ukraine (nobody knows this for sure) but if we continue to inflame him and humiliate him in front of the Russian people he could get even more reckless and unpredictable.

Sure, his defeat is all but assured in the long run but at what cost?


We could just concede Ukraine considering its just a money pot for corrupt Western Elites and hten in twenty years we have no clue what the Russian political landscape looks like.
 
Putin was a Soviet KGB officer, he remembers the Cold War and recognizes the tactics. When the other side overreaches you arm and train their opponent while avoiding the conflict yourself. They and China did it successfully in Korea, less so in Vietnam, we nailed it when they were in Afghanistan.

Nothing is predictable right now.

I think letting Putin think he was victorious and cement his legacy in Russian history is the fastest way to end this conflict with minimal causalities.

If he has any further aggressions then he will meet his end.

This is the certain thing people aren't getting. When Putin is knocking on Poland's door, which is putting a target directly on Germany do we want to go all out then or wipe out Putin's resources now

I'm pretty sure it is Putin who is sending Russian boys to slaughter and be slaughtered by Ukrainian boys. We should not lose sight of that.

Thats not our country. We can't control what a mad dictator in his last few years will do. What we can do is our best to ensure our people are not slaughtered.

Ukraine is of no importance to the West other than the elites not getting their 10%.

Again - If Putin is dumb enough to even put one boot on the ground of a NATO ally we can wipe the floor with him in quick order.
 
YOu'd think now would be a good time to push for our own energy indepdence for the West.

For some reason the West wants this war to rage on.....

Actually what happens in Ukraine is of some importance. The rest of the world is watching (including the CCP!). Make the price of the Russian invasion high and Xi will draw his conclusions. Move on with a shrug of the shoulders and Xi will draw another set of conclusions.

Great - Give them a false sense of security for when it actually matters to defend ourselves and the free people of the world.

Ukraine is nothing more than a moneypot for the West. Thats why they want the next generation of young men to die for it.
