Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Targeting Cruz means the plan was to stick Ozuna in LF full time. The news Acuna won’t be back until May, which could extend into June, means the Braves would have had an OF of Ozuna, Duvall and Heredia for at least a month. And the bench OF option is…some guy in the stands?

Talk about an awful plan.

Should just talk markakis out of retirement for a month. He's always good for a month. Kinda kidding, kinda serious

I don’t have a clue what’s going to happen with Ozuna but 16 millions a year for the next 4 years is a bargain. Specially with DH now.

Dodgers want Freeman but they lose Scherzer and Kershaw is coming from a injury. They lose Joe Kelly and Jansen still free agent do they have enough money to get Freeman and upgrade the bullpen?

I think Yankees they are out of Freeman sweepstakes. Cole $36 millions next 7 years, Stanton $32 millions next 3, Donaldson $25 next 2 and Judge free agent I believe next year.

Still amazes me that people think Ozuna is a trade candidate.

1.) Exactly what would you give up for 3 guaranteed years of someone who is the equivalent of Cruz on his best days?

2) How long do you think you'd keep your job when he beats his wife again?

Ozuna's as much a trade candidate as Hosmer is - you're either going to have to take a really bad contract back to move him, or you're going to have to give him away.

Its not so much Ozuna being a trade chip as it is making room for Pache. Our next super star.

Rosenthal wrote this morning that Freeman wants to sign after Olson is traded, and the A’s want to trade Olson after Freeman signs. So a bit of a stare down.

Freeman’s an idiot if that’s true. The A’s don’t have to trade Olson.

I think the big time FA's this year have a lot of pressure to get as much as possible coming out of the lockout.

Doesn’t it almost have to be as obvious as posturing from Freeman’s camp and Rizzo’s camp to see who signs first? I don’t even understand why Olson would even be relevant to Freeman’s potential move.

Freeman never struck me as the type of guy who would hold out for more money, but here we are. All of the teams have reported already, and he's still sitting home

I agree. I never thought he’d be that guy. He knows what everybody’s offer by now. Maybe it’s his agent telling him to hold out. AA can’t wait forever. We don’t have a 1b right now and ST has already started.

ANd the Yankees are about to take Olson off the board.

If Freeman then signs with the Dodgers the options begin to dwindle.

You may have to go Correa/Conforto and move Riley to first.
