Official 2022 Offseason Moves Thread

Hate to see him go to the Dodgers but AA made the right move. Hope Freeman has a steep decline and Dodgers have an albatross contract.

Dodgers add the best free agent available at a reasonable deal even though it wasn’t a position of need but recognizing how the universal DH changes the age factor. If they had been in our shoes they would have found a way to make Olson and Freeman happen. Meanwhile we apparently get to watch Alex Dickerson and Guillermo Heredia battle for the starting CF job while Acuna is out. All the while hoping we get good Wright and good Ynoa to round out an injury prone rotation. And while the team is rolling in the profits.

Correa > Freeman.

Find it hard to think AA doesnt at least add some veteran SP to the mix.

Plain and simple he just didn’t wanna come back. Ozuna may of had something to do with it who knows. With the California tax he got less. The Dodgers are stacked no doubt but I like our team too. Get another starter and we’re ready to go.

Didn't say anything, just retweeted a Freeman v. Olson stats and contract comparison where Olson was winning the user poll 71-29.

Surprised to see Shanks not stick with his homie.

Not sure why - the next time he respects or displays loyalty towards someone would be the first time.

He carried the water for the Johns I thought.

Always thought he did that mainly because he wasn't smart enough to understand when he was being fed a line personally - he constantly begged for folks to ignore DOB and Bowman because they were doing that, but he quickly bit on every cast hook, line, and sinker.

This is along what I was told almost to the letter.

From two other people I got the impression a change of scenery was needed.

From what you're hinting at, just have to wonder if he wasn't as tight with his teammates as we might have thought. I never made him out to be some clubhouse leader. In fact, just from visual observation I got the impression he kept to himself a bit.

I wonder what Alex has planned for us today. It's wet and dreary here, so I'm going to guess it's a SP depth addition.

Dont know anymore than any other poster here but have this gut feeling and with some justification IMO that AA is not done yet. Will not surprise me at all that Ozunas contract will be enticing to one of the lower budget teams needing a DH. With the glut of OFers on board seems to me that either of Ozuna or Duvall could be targets of those teams. Then too, TDA spent some time at DH last year. Soler is still available, Acuna my be/could be placed as the full time DH for this year to ensure healing. JMO

AA recently said he wanted to round out his roster before spring training started. I believe games start tomorrow so my guess is he’s done. Although he may round out the roster as players get cut elsewhere. But I don’t think we see anything major happen.
