2022 Spring Training Thread

The eye test in the 1st tells me:

FA at 96+ based on the TV gun. Didn't appear to have much horizontal movement, but it might have good rise.

The breaking ball at 83 looked like a downer, but it's hard to judge movement that isn't obvious on TV.

The change he threw to Biggio at 88 looked good. It appeared to have some nice arm side run.

It's looking like we will be watching Rosario and his .309 career OBP in the leadoff slot until Acuna gets back.

I knew Twit was going to do that the moment the contract was announced.

It would be nice if some of our OPS looked better...
Rosario .385
Albies .404
Olson .643
Duvall .444
Swanson .531

Strider's slider/changeup look better than I expected - hope the numbers back that up. Both getting weak swings. I don't think anyone has squared him up through the first two innings.

I think if you managed him the right way which includes a super quick hook third time through the order you can piece together a nice #5 starters pitcher day.

He just buried that downer in the dirt for a K though. Definitely looked tired (was literally huffing and puffing on the mound), and Snit got him out.
