Around the Majors - 2022 Version

Carlos Correa appears to have a fracture in the finger after getting hit by a pitch last night. They said on MLB Network Radio he could be out 8-12 weeks if he needs surgery. Getting further tests done today

Aren't they like dead last in EV?

What could possibly be the motivation behind this? Why in the world would MLB want a boring product except for Sunday night prime time games?

These kinds of conspiracy theories are moronic. You can't claim a governing body to be incompetent in one breath, and then claim they are somehow effectively orchestrating an elaborate conspiracy in the next breath. The governing body is either incompetent, or they aren't, and it can't change based on the point you are trying to "prove".

MLB has demonstrated a complete inability to provide consistent baseballs, therefor there is no way they could orchestrate something like a "Live Sunday Ball" conspiracy.

I think you give the MLB too much credit at how incompetent they can be. We know they've tinkered with switching balls mid-season in the past.

So is Alex competent or incompetent?

You constantly harp on how idiotic it was for him to sign Rosario to a two year deal, not bring in another SP, and spend on the pen when there weren't any starters left on the board.

Even coming off a Championship he was dealing with a finite pool of resources. Is he dumb or isn't he?

To clarify...MLB is too incompetent to provide consistent baseballs, yet competent at consistently providing hot balls on Sunday and dead balls to every other game. Never mind they have shown no ability whatsoever to control the performance of the baseballs.

Is that not what we have to believe for this conspiracy to be true?

Still early, but...
FF 1.3 fWAR
Olson 0.7 fWAR

You are correct. It is wayyyyyy!!!! early.

I still believe they will be essentially the same player by the end of the season.

The early plate discipline we saw from Olson was not a mirage. He will get back to doing that with the attendant success in time.

I’m sure Olson has felt a ton of pressure with the Freeman situation playing out the way it went down and everything. He’ll be fine.
