I certainly wouldn't bet on it, but Davidson has had 2 good starts out of last 3, so hopefully he can lock down the 5-spot.

Yesterday wasn’t a good start. 4 walks against a weak team is a horrible start. We need a better starter. If strider was stretched enough to start then I would almost say Anderson is our #5. That would be great.

Davidson is not it for me. I still think Elder will be a solid 5.

Davidson is a guy who needs to be sent to the orioles or the like to eat innings and earn a pension. He's not a piece on a winning team. Great outcome for his talent level and where he was picked.

I guess my bar is too low these days; but if a 5th starter can give us 5 ip and less than 2 er, I can live with that and he's done that 2 of the last 3. It's certainly debatable on how sustainable it is... apparently AA chimed in with his opinion

I think for now, until the other guys prove they can get through a game without walking guy after guy, I’d go with Strider or have Chavez/Lee open and run Strider through the middle innings. Hopefully we’re still hanging around the Wild Card race in July and AA can acquire a starter.

Strider is scheduled to start Monday per NBC Sports Edge

Elder and Davidson and every other AAAA arm are completely interchangeable depth for the rotation. Any of them can reel off a string of unsustainably good starts at any time, and that won’t change the fact they aren’t very good.

The Braves probably need another SP, but letting Strider go 4-5 innings might be the best option as long as snit doesn’t screw it up by leaving him in too long…which he will almost certainly do.
