NBA Thread

Are the Nets supposed to win every game. They still have easily the beat record in he east for.the last 2 1/2 months. Even in the wizard game they looked awesome just didn't finish. Deron Williams is turning back the clock to four years ago. If he is healthy the nets are going to be a tough out for the eastteams. They could easily lose in the first round but they are playing very well right now.

The Nets are not good. Deron Williams may be the worst defensive player in all of basketball. He's criminally slow and unathletic. It was comical watching him try to guard Wall, who blew past him with ease. This forced the Nets to bring Livingston in and move Deron to the 2 guard. So, in order to keep Deron in the game they have to play a crappy PG in Livingston. That leaves Joe Johnson at the 3 and Pierce at the 4 and a very small and paethic defensive team.

To compliment that, they have no frontcourt.

Pierce has actually been an excellent defensive player at the 4 so far this year according to the numbers. He is also a defensive nightmare for opposing 4's.

You are SO off on LIvingston. He has been the under the radar reason why the Nets have been good since January. Just like the Knicks did last year, Kidd prefers to run a 2 PG set and its worked beautifully.

Your evidence that Williams is bad is that John Wall who is one of the fastest players in the NBA blew past him? Wow, what analysis there. That must mean that basically every PG in the NBA sucks at defense.

The Nets have been a great defensive team since they went with this 2 guard look. Just look at the numbers. Forget what they did prior to January. That means NOTHING right now.

Sure, the Nets frontcourt depth isn't great but Blatche/Plumlee/AK47/Mirza is good enough to get the job done considering Pierce is at the 4 now and doing a great job.

The Nets are in fact a good team and have proved that for 2 1/2 months. Their ball movement is beautiful and I am jealous when I watch then or the Spurs play because Brooks can't coach that for the Thunder. I know you just don't want to go back and what you've been saying but their record speaks for itself. I'm not predicting the Nets are going to win anything in the playoffs because with their age and Williams health you never know what can happen but they will be a tough out.

LOL off Shawn Livingston. LOL.

THey have to go to two point guards bc Deron is pathetic defensively. He puts so much pressure on his frontcourt bc PGs just blow by him. The team gives up 108 points per 100 possessions with him on the court. Having to bring in Livingston to guard the 1 means that Johnson has to guard a 3, pierce a 4 and thornton on the bench. And the best wing defender AK47 on the bench.

Paul Pierce defensively at the 4 has given up a .589 eFG% and 19.8 PER given up. Nice try.

Blache is a skilled offensive player, but another pathetic defender. Who is going to guard the rim with Pierce at the 4? Or Blatche or the Russian in the game?

Plumlee is not good, you somehow brought up an even worse defensive player and a guy with no offensive game at all.

The Russian dude? The one giving up 112 points per game defensively when he's in?

LOL off that frontcourt.

You are "jealous" of the ball movement of the Nets bc they don't have a PG that wants to shoot 25x per game. Watching a team that doesn't have that must amaze you.

The Thunder system is predicated on two of the top 5 players in basketball making plays. It works because the Thunder are one of hte best offensive teams in the league when those two are on the court. Its not about one player when a team has good ball movement. Its about understanding the importance of quick decisions. I'm not surprised you would make this comment because you never really watch the Thunder play. Westbrook has been distributing the ball BEAUTIFULLY this year. You'll never admit it and thats ok. Maybe you will actually watch when they are rolling through the Western Conference and Westbrook is getting 9+ assists a night.

I can't believe you actually don't think Livingston has been good this year. I just don't even know what to say. You continually prove that you just do not watch any NBA games other than the Wizard.

Its not resulting in as many wins as they would like but John Wall is really killing it from behind the 3 point line right now. Thats a scary thought moving forward.

He is basically at the 20/9 threshold which has rarely been accomplished in the history of the NBA. Beal has been a little up and down this year but those two form the cornerstone of a potential contender moving forward. That Nene deal is going to hurt them down the road and they have to sign Ariza long term but this is a team that could be a potential darkhorse to sign another legit superstar type talent in FA over the next two years.

I know he is an older player but I think signing Pau to a 3 year deal would be a smart move for hte Wizard. A great inside outside presence.

Of course, getting a skilled big like Monroe who is young is also an option.

Hes very good, but not the best

If he is the best player this year and then moving forward then we will look back and say exactly that.

It took a while for people to realize that Lebron was better than Kobe. The same thing is happening now.

People need to pay attention. Kevin Durant is amazing. We haven't seen a scorer like this since Jordan and taking centers out of the equation those two will go down as the greatest scorers in the history of the game.
