Affordable Care Act

I mean I can't see an industry such as Big-insurance just going away. And they own too many politicians.

agreed and still this:

"cause this country doesn't care about doing things right to help the people that pay taxes

been an empire for 60 years or so and could have been so much more"

That's a little too sweeping for me. I think plenty (all across the spectrum) do care but they define "right" differently. Plenty don't but plenty do as well.

Too be as rich as we are and to have as many problems as we do from homeless people, people dying because their insurance company won't cover a treatment/ 25% of kids living in poverty etc

It truly is pathetic if we are being honest about our situation

Free market. Government shouldn't intervene on these things. It would be unconstitutional.

I don't necessarily disagree. Much more could be done. The question to me is how best is that much more to be done. And I'm willing to listen to more than one idea.

I remember many things in the last community I pastored in (a small town) that were done to help these sort of issues locally. Multiple safety nets were spread involving local government, charities, doctors, the local hospital, churches, businesses, etc. Such didn't get blared across the airwaves, but it went on. And that local care, while not always working, did so often (and still does). There is something about helping one's close community.

Anyway, all that sticks in my mind when we have these discussions and so sweeping "we can do this thru one massive government program" doesn't resonate completely with me.

Yeah, letting the communities take care of the situation ...... right.
A form of universal health care was proposed as long ago as Teddy Roosevelt. Checking my math ------- = 110 years roughly? -
.So this has been a problem for over a hundred years - and you think it needs to be considered more before a "massive government" program is enacted.
You living on Mars?

Gov Christies appointed investigation found no wrong doing of Gov Christies part too. just giving an update there

It's not an either/or 57. No need to try and present what I am saying as that. That's an unfair reading.

And no need for you to say,"You living on Mars?" It's stuff like that that makes it difficult for me to try to play nice. Think about your fellow man. Don't put temptation before him.

If it isn't an either or you are presenting what is it?
I have yet to see a legitimate proposal come from those to replace ACA.
Lots of talk
Very little walk

Maybe i shouldn't have used Mars. Living on Mars is a future concept. Perhaps I should have used 17th Century England. :)
You get my point --

I'm going to go out a limb here and speculate that this might be part of the reason why some folks are so against the ACA.

Funny part about the ACA, is when it was first being signed, Conservatives were complaining it was going to destroy jobs in the insurance industry.

Now that it's been initiated, they're complaining Obamacare is a free pass for insurance companies to do anything they want.

And now that some hospitals are not accepting obamacare insurance, people see just how flawed the insurance system really is.

Well, we could release some of the regulations on heath insurance to begin with. We could allow customers to shop beyond state lines. We could drive competition by not mandating individuals have to buy something.

But no, ObamaCare is a great solution... What are we up to now? 3% of the uninsured are now insured?

This is simply not true

yeah but ...

Leading Off:

• WV-03: Here's an interesting angle to the debate over the Affordable Care Act that's playing out with particular salience in West Virginia—a state you might expect to be particularly hostile to Obamacare because, well, Obama. However, as the law's supporters point out, thanks to the efforts of the late Sen. Robert Byrd, the ACA contains a provision that makes it much easier for miners who contract black lung disease (or their widows) to win federal benefits. That means calling for Obamacare's total repeal, like Republican congressional candidate Evan Jenkins has, is much riskier position than you might expect.

Indeed, a recent House Majority PAC ad raised this very issue, leading Jenkins to demand the spot be taken off the air, because he insists he supports black lung benefits. However, as the West Virginia Gazette reports, Jenkins "has not explained what he would do to protect those benefits if the ACA were repealed." And despite the Jenkins campaign's claims that some stations had stopped airing the ad, station managers contacted by the Gazette say it's still on TV.

Bull****. 89% of people have paid? Insurance companies are reporting percentages way lower than that

And that is now the problem!!! -- we've gone from death panels to Birth Certificate to socialism to web sites to cancellations to overall rate hikes to contraception to illegals crowding our hospitals to women of color getting something for free ... on and on and on and on -----
and every pitch has been fouled off

When you gonna learn --
