That's a little too sweeping for me. I think plenty (all across the spectrum) do care but they define "right" differently. Plenty don't but plenty do as well.

Too be as rich as we are and to have as many problems as we do from homeless people, people dying because their insurance company won't cover a treatment/ 25% of kids living in poverty etc
It truly is pathetic if we are being honest about our situation
Free market. Government shouldn't intervene on these things. It would be unconstitutional.

I don't necessarily disagree. Much more could be done. The question to me is how best is that much more to be done. And I'm willing to listen to more than one idea.
I remember many things in the last community I pastored in (a small town) that were done to help these sort of issues locally. Multiple safety nets were spread involving local government, charities, doctors, the local hospital, churches, businesses, etc. Such didn't get blared across the airwaves, but it went on. And that local care, while not always working, did so often (and still does). There is something about helping one's close community.
Anyway, all that sticks in my mind when we have these discussions and so sweeping "we can do this thru one massive government program" doesn't resonate completely with me.

A form of universal health care was proposed as long ago as Teddy Roosevelt. Checking my math ------- = 110 years roughly? -

I'm going to go out a limb here and speculate that this might be part of the reason why some folks are so against the ACA.
Funny part about the ACA, is when it was first being signed, Conservatives were complaining it was going to destroy jobs in the insurance industry.
Now that it's been initiated, they're complaining Obamacare is a free pass for insurance companies to do anything they want.
And now that some hospitals are not accepting obamacare insurance, people see just how flawed the insurance system really is.

Well, we could release some of the regulations on heath insurance to begin with. We could allow customers to shop beyond state lines. We could drive competition by not mandating individuals have to buy something.
But no, ObamaCare is a great solution... What are we up to now? 3% of the uninsured are now insured?

And despite the Jenkins campaign's claims that some stations had stopped airing the ad, station managers contacted by the Gazette say it's still on TV.
