With Cargo as a LF, I'd agree overall. Personally I am fine with him in LF at number 1 if you're an optimist. Basically the top group of him, Holliday, Cargo, Choo, and J-Up are all about equals in reality.

The Rangers are hurting for starting pitching at the moment, but Hanson failed to impress this spring by posting a 6.43 ERA and 11/5 K/BB ratio over 14 innings. With his stock at rock bottom, the 27-year-old will attempt to latch on elsewhere.

I know we need pitching depth, but I do not want to watch Hanson pitch for the Braves ever again.
 
Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the Twins have placed left-hander Scott Diamond on waivers.
 
If chipper was a yankee and jeter a brave chipper would have won 8+ rings. Jeter and the braves would have 0 rings and the streak wouldn't have got past 10. Who am I kidding Jeter would have bolted for a big market team first chance he got.

Agreed, they might only be able to keep one of Miggy/Scherzer.

I can understand going with Miggy if thats the case.
 
I think this deal pretty much closes the door on re-sgning Scherzer. Boras rejected 144 mil. I don't wish Scherzer bad luck, but part of me wishes he has a sub par yr and has to settle for 120 or even less 100 mil, Greedy ass Boras has really been screwing over his star players lately by having them "wait for the market to build." Serves the bastard right and I hope more players drop his ass.

Miggy is signed through his 32 year old season on his current deal. Odds are his career is gonna go downhill pretty fast after that point. Could totally be wrong, but big men don't age well. Pujols was as good if not better hitter than Miggy and his 32 year old season he took a big step down and really stank/was hurt at 33. Ryan Howard also has aged terribly into his 30s. Maybe Miggy is the exception, but you don't bet on exceptions. Of course the Tigers have money so they won't sting too bad if it tanks.
