GDT 7/24/22: Braves vs Angels - Heredia gets a start

When I was a kid Ford stood for fix or repair daily. Now it stands for **** our reserve depth.

Tempting fate, I know, but I don't see the big deal. The only LH SPs they're likely to see over the next 10 days are Suarez and possibly Bumgarner - can always have Ozuna play LF on those days and let Contreras or d'Arnaud DH if Snitker wants the extra RH bat in the lineup.

Given MadBum's 4.68 xFIP, there's probably not a whole lot of reason to worry about sitting Rosario against him.

Why would we not start Rosario. Heredia will not be on the postseason roster after the trade deadline acquisition.

Silly.

What would be silly is putting Rosario in against a lefty with how he's been playing.

Definitely ignores the platoon advantage, so you don't do it against Suarez - but is anybody really worried about punting one spot in the order against MadBum? As I mentioned, he's the only other LH starter they're likely going to see while Duvall is down. I'd think you play Ozuna on defense against both those guys to maintain the platoon advantage if you have to, but if the choice is starting Rosario against MadBum so you keep Heredia on the bench in case something happens to Harris (so there's no danger of having Acuna need to slide over to CF at any point), I'd be OK with losing the platoon advantage two times through the order - the rest of the lineup SHOULD beat Bumgarner regardless of who stands in LF.

The dot on the strike zone graphic appears to be a few inches lower than the ball. If the same tech was being used to call strikes it would be a big problem.

If Ian can’t get non Major Leaguers out, what is he doing on the roster?

Now, to be fair, it’s been nothing but bloop hits, but if you can’t miss bats against garbage hitters, then GTFO.
