With no evidence at all to base it on, I think matzek spent the whole offseason reading his press clippings instead of working hard on his craft
 
Games like today are the very reason I am fairly confident they won't win the division. They mail these day games in pure and simple.

It's just pretty common for middle relievers to be up and down. He may still have a tired arm. I've listened to O'Flaherty talk pretty extensively about this on the podcast with O'Brien. He was talking the other day about how that appears to be the case with Minter lately because his pitches aren't getting the same action even though he may not be doing anything differently or feeling any differently.

This again is why I've continued to say AA should be looking to build as deep a pen as possible by Tuesday and shouldn't be concerning himself with who gets squeezed out when Yates comes back and so on. This is also why it shouldn't be constant practice or expectation to always use a guy the message board thinks you should use every game and why sometimes you gotta let starters go a little bit deeper if you can.
 
There is no way that Cano looks in the mirror every morning and thinks that he still has something left to contribute to the game of baseball…At this point he’s embarrassing himself.
 
I get this game is frustrating but the vitriol I don’t get
Still ws champs.
Still one of the top teams in the game.
Going to get better at the deadline.
Still a bright future with young talent and some money to spend.

It’s awesome you’re positive and I like it…But some of us are vested fans of this team as well and it’s ok for us to express ourselves according to their play…Geez man…I bet you don’t make a sound when cum

I still think they've got a very good chance to win the division, but this isn't entirely wrong. We may have lost with our best possible lineup anyway, but we're eventually going to run out of punts. We've set ourselves up now to fall back to three games out, four days after we cut the lead down to 0.5. Still 62 to play, but today doesn't seem like the day to run a Sunday lineup out there with an off day tomorrow and a short flight back to Atlanta.
