GDT 8/6/22 Game 2: Braves @ Mutts - Interesting Choices

That’s what scares me about signing Dansby. I could see him reverting back to pre 22 Dansby and being an albatross.

Also, Olson has been pretty good this year but to act like he hasn't disappointed is a stretch

It's definitely been a downgrade and during a year where we are trying to win the world series, having this.much of a downgrade is a bummer
His career wRC is 130. His season WRC coming into this game was 129. He’s been exactly as advertised (with a few more doubles and less homeruns but I blame this partly on the dead ball).

It’s not his fault that he’s replacing a hall of farmer who left in the middle of his prime. If that’s the standard he’s always going to be held to, then he’s never going to meet expectations. Otherwise, he’s probably been the most consistent hitter on the team (sans Riley).

I do think his defense has been below average which is disappointing given his reputation.

In about 20 mins, the braves will be closer to the Phillies than the Mets. Braves are now 4-8 vs Phillies and Mets in last 4 series.

I hope we don’t. If he wants 20+ I say we splash on Correa or Turner…I would love for Swanson to get greedy and leave.

Dansby is a great defender, tonight not withstanding, but he’s not a great hitter. Somebody is going to seriously overpay him I’m sure, hope it’s not the Braves. 6/100, sure. 7/150. No thanks.

So the Braves acted like it didn’t matter at all when they let the Mets come into their back yard and waltz away with 2 of 3. Wonder what they’ll say when they leave town tomorrow night 6.5 back.

If we had signed Rizzo, we'd be a better team right now. I never woulda guessed it, but it's true. We picked the worse of the group this year, and we extended him after trading 2 (at the time) great prospects.
