Hell, I’ll bet he strikes out 15 if Buck lets him go deep enough. He’ll have a dozen through six probably.
Have you taken the time to A.) watch a daytime Braves game? And B.) watch the Braves try to hit deGrom?
So the Braves acted like it didn’t matter at all when they let the Mets come into their back yard and waltz away with 2 of 3. Wonder what they’ll say when they leave town tomorrow night 6.5 back.
His career wRC is 130. His season WRC coming into this game was 129. He’s been exactly as advertised (with a few more doubles and less homeruns but I blame this partly on the dead ball).
It’s not his fault that he’s replacing a hall of farmer who left in the middle of his prime. If that’s the standard he’s always going to be held to, then he’s never going to meet expectations. Otherwise, he’s probably been the most consistent hitter on the team (sans Riley).
I do think his defense has been below average which is disappointing given his reputation.
Rizzo is fine, but he’s also benefitted enormously from Yankee stadium. He’s been very dependent on the short porch in RF.If we had signed Rizzo, we'd be a better team right now. I never woulda guessed it, but it's true. We picked the worse of the group this year, and we extended him after trading 2 (at the time) great prospects.
He was 146 last year and I'll admit I was hoping that he was ascending, not peaking
Have you taken the time to look at the Mets’ record in deGrom’s starts and understand that he’s still on a pitch count?
We deserved to lose this game and series but I'm so @#$% tired of having to overcome two different strike zones and two different sets of replay criteria.
I have watched this Braves offense to know that they don’t have the first prayer against deGrom. Strider will have to pitch outside of his mind.
I am all for scrapping replay. If we are going to let umpires **** up balls and strikes with no repercussions, I see little benefit in the system.
You don’t know ****.
And they’re mocking the chop. Bad idea. That never works out well.
Also, I’m glad they’re cherishing a series win in early August. Enjoy it.
One thing for sure. Buck Showalter is so much better manager than Snitker it isn’t even funny.
Lol ok. Have fun watching that 5-1 loss tomorrow.
