Ozuna arrested on DUI charges?

yeah, I think our only hope to recoup money would be Zuna getting placed on restricted list for some reason.. but I doubt that happens and I think they will just eat the remaining contract and release him before the week is over.

According to the AJC, he reached a plea deal that included a 6-month diversion plan back in September. Once completed, his charges would have been dropped. So I am assuming that those charges were dropped.

So help me understand here…this DUI offense happened 6 months ago?

Mlb could have him on some probation type deal that we don't know about from the DV.

There has to be something in the MLB rules about player conduct. For example, if a player has multiple arrests, who knows if that triggers something on the MLB end

So this happened 6 months ago? The Braves wouldn’t be just now benching him.

No it happened last night/this morning. Part of his plea deal on the domestic violence was probation so he may have to do some jail time for violation. But I think the probation period has lapsed.

no, they are talking about the domestic violence charges were basically dropped after his 6 months probation. that was 6 months ago. These two charges won't factor with each other.

Whatever it is, it would likely be really light. There is no way the MLBPA would agree to terms on something that would allow for contract termination unless it was really serious.

Well unless he wants to say it was a false DUI, a DUI is pretty serious considering, depending on how drunk he was, he was putting his and other lives at direct risk.

There is no salary relief here.

he's owed 2/36 after this year. When does the roster spot become more valuable than the sunk cost?

I wish that two crimes led to some financial penalty but it doesn't.
