Over the course of his career, Cox’s teams outperformed expectations by 3.1 wins per 162 games on average, sometimes exceeding their projected talent level by as much as 10 wins.

The only stat needed to quantify Bobby is 16. That's 16 straight division titles. He won the division with the Jays before coming to the Braves. That has to be one of the most unbreakable records in sports.

Ok, I had to post this, too.

For managers who have managed at least three seasons, Jon's top five in wins added per 162 games were Farrell (+5.7), Fredi Gonzalez (+5.5), Tony La Russa (+5.0), Mattingly (+4.7) and Ron Washington (+4.4).

I didn't click on the link but I'm guessing this is that thing based on predicting a team's W-L record based on runs scored and runs allowed?

Something like that.

They looked at every manager to manage a decent amount of games and found out that most of them did nothing when it came to altering a teams win/loss record from what was expected. Cox was one of the few who did.

That it's not that surprising Fredi's teams outperform their expected W/L totals.

Most of that probably comes from his stint in Florida as he really didn't have much to work with, but I'd say last years team was a bit over achieving as well.

2011 - Braves won 89 games. Expected to win 85 games. +4
2012 - Braves won 94 games. Expected to win 92 games. +2
2013 - Braves won 96 games. Expected to win 98 games. -2

So, instead of better like people are trying to say, Fredi is getting consistently worse. Nice.
