He’s so annoying and bad for this country. It’s too bad this FBI raid is exactly what he wanted. Excellent campaign fodder for the next two years. Unfortunately, the media built that story up with nuclear codes to provide his base with red meat.

As far as I can tell this article from the WaPo is the genesis for all other media reporting on this issue. No one has added materially to the information or contradicted it. At least that I'm aware of.

Classified documents relating to nuclear weapons were among the items FBI agents sought in a search of former president Donald Trump’s Florida residence on Monday, according to people familiar with the investigation.
Experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands.
The people who described some of the material that agents were seeking spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation. They did not offer additional details about what type of information the agents were seeking, including whether it involved weapons belonging to the United States or some other nation. Nor did they say if such documents were recovered as part of the search. A Trump spokesman did not respond to a request for comment. The Justice Department and FBI declined to comment.

Bad speculation by people by people based on rumors of the classification of some of the documents. I didnt even comment on it because the nuclear codes are constantly changing. It's not like he could have had the active nuclear codes or even the most recent ones. I doubt Trump ever even knew the code himself while President. Beyond that it's not like theres any hostile country that could use that for anything more than trolling the US. Personally I wouldn't give too ****s if he had old nuclear codes and that only as some momento. If we were in a tense world situation like the Cuban Missle Crisis then yeah Ibwould consider it a big deal. We could announce the nuclear codes on twatter and the real world impact would be next to nothing .

Were you born yesterday? Are you new to media? Since when has media gotten every single detail correct that something not being accurate is this big of a deal? There ain't no media in existence that has gotten every detail of every story correct 100% of the time. Facts of life. Somehow it's only a big deal when it's about Trump. The amount of hoaxes and outright lies pushed by right wing media is massive. Trump has benefited from fake news media far more than he has been victimized. Pushing fake news is quite literally a political strategy amd prime time people on the largest news network openly work as informal advisors of his.The dude calls anything but the sickest of sycophants fake news. Since some people around here like to rewrite history let me set my predictions for future reference now that there is a reasonable amount of information available.
I think Donald Trump will be indicted after the mid terms. I dont believe the DoJ would go through with legal charges for the mishandling of classified documents on a former President but will pursue the obstruction charges. The DoJ will offer to drop the document part in exchange for pleading guilty to obstruction and a recommendation of a 90 day house arrest sentence. Trump will twist this to his base rather than admit it's a sweetheart plea deal. He will claim it's an attempt to stop his rallies or run for office. That may force the DoJs hand to charge him for the documents and obstruction which he will of course claim is politically motivated. A trial could go any number of ways. If he goes on trial in DC I see some violence coming from his base in some way shape or form. Worst case scenario I see a judge giving him house arrest or Biden pardoning Trump if he gets a prison sentence. Biden really is that stupid to think doing that would end this crazy **** from the right.

My money is on Trump not even knowing what's in the documents. He took them just to take them. We know he doesn't read, but it makes him feel important to have them around.
This is the first take on this story that I would believe 100%.
