Some Red State/Blue State Indicia

A red state produced one of the left's favorite presidents, Clinton. A blue state produced one of the right's favorite presidents, trump. Which side is more embarrassed?

A blue state produced the greatest president of my lifetime, Reagan. That's something to be proud of blue side

I might have this backward, but I’m indeed pretty embarrassed by the popularity of Bill Clinton.

When Reagan was president California was a much different place.

Same with NY for trump.

We are on the path to save the state.

NY Democrats really benefited from gutting the state and forcing responsible successful people (Republicans) to leave the state. If not we may be in full control.

BTW- That really dark area right before suffolk county is where I live. We are trending in the right direction and aside from absurd costs living in Nassau County is amazing.

On this day in history William Tecumseh Sherman began his March through Georgia. What y'all doin' to celebrate.

I wonder how this breaks down by city

From a former big box retail manager, I think the answer might surprise you. Obviously there’s going to be higher quantities of theft in cities because there’s more people, but the rural areas I worked in were greatly affected by it. ORC rings do a LOT of traveling by design. It’s also very tough to stop quickly less due to zealousness by law enforcement but rather due to the careful nature of these major corporations. I never heard of peers in larger markets having trouble finding support for prosecutions.

I used to work at a target in my teen years in a more rural area. I came to found out that the metal detectors at the entrance went off randomly as a deterrent than based on any detection of anything.

Always got a kick out of that

Our anti-theft measures were mostly real, though there’s been a major, major issue with supply chain on parts for those. We were frequently shutting down EAS pedestals at the doors because our vendors couldn’t keep them functional.

So what's our takeaway from target feeling the need to call out the 50% increase in theft?

Bad economy? Bad increase in crime? Bad luck?

Wonder what the seals think?

I mean, why wouldn’t they? It’s an easy, blameless (company-wise) way to throw your hands in the air and say they’d be doing splendidly if not for those pesky criminals. It’s also useful in advancing their own interests. Even if they’re being provided support from the justice system in apprehending and prosecuting criminals, I’d think further penalties for theft from them is in their best interest.

I should clarify... What is the takeaway from the massive increase in theft?

Bad economy regardless of what my friends on the left will tell you. I’m still not sold on the idea that Republicans would be faring any better, but it’s not strong right now.
