Heyward was a terrible hitter propped up by good OF D. Turner is a very good hitter.
It’s still a very long deal, way too long. But from the Phils side, they can figure 35mm/year first 6 years them 17-18 or so for the last 5.
1. Heyward was not a terrible hitter before signing that contract. Turner is a better hitter than Heyward was, that is true. But isn't as far apart as you make it seem.
2. It's not really the point I was making. People said that 25 million per year wouldn't be that bad later in his contact due to rising contract prices. Turned out 25 million is still a not of money 7v years later
