Official official offseason thread

I am only a few post from saying is WC worse than Reynolds. They were very similar last year. I don’t know if I would trade him for Reynolds. That said I don’t think it is wrong to really wonder if WC is as good as he was last year. I remain hopeful but I wouldn’t bet the farm.

I love WC but Reynolds would fill a huge hole.

That's fair. But he's a guy I'd rather dream on. The farm is fairly gutted barring a few Spects stepping forward so any major trade is going to be interesting. And for me unfortunately...WC is intriguing I would think to other clubs.

Mutts starting pitching is a solid 1-5 but I’d worry about Max or Verlander because of age.
Carrasco as your 5th starter is pretty solid.
East is gonna be loaded next year and so much fun to watch.

Any team with that type of payroll should have no holes period

Mets trying to ruin mlb

What’s crazy to me is Manfred would have veto’d the Judge to SF deal over money and how it was structured, but he has no problem with a team (Mets) spending more in luxury tax alone than several other teams will spend on their entire roster for the season (Oakland, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, maybe Tampa, maybe KC).

If the Mets do sign Correa, I wonder if that pushes AA to do something? Sign Dansby or trade for another bat?

He should already be trying to sign Correa. We supposedly did last offseason. If we were willing to give Riley 10 years, we should be willing to give Correa 10. But I know it’s not my money…

I agree 100%; especially when the move would put us over the top and decidedly make us the best team in the NL, if not MLB, by quite a bit.

I went back and read some of the articles about Correa last off-season. Boras reached out to half the teams in the league including us. We didn’t reach out to him and we didn’t make an offer

Correa should be the play here for us imo. He checks all the boxes. I know his price will be crazy but we are ready for a move like this to push our chips in. We could string off a couple more championships with what we have and could have. I say sign him and lock the position down.

The Braves shouldn’t do it in reaction to the Mets moves but they absolutely have NO reason to not be in on Correa. He checks all of the boxes and they clearly have money coming in at an incredible rate. Any reason otherwise is truly an excuse.
