GDT #6, 4/6/'14: Braves (Wood) @ Nationals (Jordan) 1:35 PM EST [The Dark Wood Rises]

All things considered the way the offense is going, we have to be ecstatic this team is 4 and 2 and going home. Although a win today would have been nice and a sweep, if they would have told you before the road trip began they'd go 4 and 2 we would have all taken it.

Not a joke. If we wouldn't have had injuries, Wood was going to be in the bullpen to keep his innings down...now we have him going over 100 pitches and having a 3-4 MPH drop off his fastball.

Wood was cruising.

He made one bad pitch, hindsight is always 20-20.

What I want to know is when is Heyward going to get a hit when it really matters? Guy is a good player but I can't call him clutch.

He is. But people will defend him to death. Laird should've been out of the game back when it really mattered, but he DEFINITELY shouldn't have had an at-bat in the 9th.

Yeah I can't believe he hit in the 9th. SMDH!

It wasn't hindsight. I said I didn't like it before the pitch. Say what you want about my opinion of Fredi, but if I think it is a bad move I don't wait until the result to say so.

Thats fine.

Carp and Avilan were fresh so i guess they could of made it a bullpen game after the 6th.

But pitching didnt lose us this game.

Like in the playoffs last year?

He's battling a sore neck, btw.

Good call on us getting blown out today.

Not as much as you, there is a word for that you know? That's also why few take you serious anymore.

Like i care what anyone says about me.

Uggla's actually looked pretty decent so far, one of the few bats who hasnt sucked, hit into some tough luck thus far. I dont see why you say he should be replaced of all players.

I saw the replay of the throw, it would of been hard as hell to get the runner at 2nd.

It is frustrating, but with just a little offense we could be 6-0 right now. Pitching has been phenomenal.

He is still terrible defensively (and his coming around a little is hitting around .200). Pastornicky can do better on offense and defense.

Tyler is also bad on defense and Uggla has hit into some tough luck. Six games is too early to be replacing anyone.

Exactly, we've wasted some fine pitching. I don't expect it to continue this great pitching wise in the Mets series. I doubt Harang pitches good two straight outings.

Tyler is bad on defense at short, not at second. He's a good second baseman and was actually great at second this spring making some highlight reel plays.

Nobody wants to be the guy who breaks the streak. I bet Harang throws another quality start.

He is bad at second, too.

No he isn't, I've watched him many games (mostly minor league games) and he saves runs at second in the long run. It's a small MLB sample but his DRS at second in the Majors is +1 (not in the negative at all). Uggla on the other hand has a bad DRS for his career and last year as bad as anyone.
