Yeah I had a hard time seeing how today was going to work out for more than just a couple innings.
Bowman and DOB speculating that Soroka could be making his long awaited debut back in the majors Friday... they will need a Gwinnett starter and he will be on regular rest after starting today. Looks like him or Shuster.
I would love this …. But doesn’t seem to be consistent with how they’ve handled him so far
Soroka...

For him to be totally punished white not walking people is concerning
I also think the sinker heavy profile isn’t going to work the same as it did 4-5 years ago. Gotta miss bats and those sinkers are easier to punish than elevated fastballs. So his other pitches are going to have to be plus for him to have a lot of success.
Is it? Would you rather him have a bad game while walking a bunch of batters?

Mets are going with a bullpen game against Strider.
I would say that seems like a terrible idea but given their starter situation minus Scherzer and Verlander, that may be best.

Isn’t it reasonable to expect a pitcher to be a bit rusty after not pitching for like 3 years?
Let the guy go through half a season in AAA and see how he recovers, mmkay?
