Former Trump pal Mike Pompeo is now throwing Trump under the bus.
It’s more proof that the whole “Republicans will never turn against Trump
no matter what” narrative was nonsense the entire time. They were always
going to selfishly sell him out on his way down. It’s their nature.

If you study authoritarian spectacle, you know that the purpose
of the motorcade is to continue to hold up the fiction for the most
deluded that he is still their leader. Trump of all people knows
how important appearances are.

Minutes after Trump was ordered by his judge not to discuss his case with his aide and Co-Defendant Walt Nauta, the two were just spotted TOGETHER at a popular Cuban restaurant in Miami!
Trump could face JAIL TIME for failing to abide by the order by talking about the case.
Legal analysts have speculated such restrictions on Trump spell disaster for him based on his penchant for having no restraint.
A simple slip of the tongue could find Trump is serious hot water.
Magistrate Judge Jonathan Goodman, who oversaw the hearing, said that any discussions related to the case must go through their lawyers.
Nauta has been charged with six crimes, accused of co-conspiring with Trump to obstruct the federal government’s attempt to recover classified documents at Mar-a-Lago. Trump has been charged with 37 total felony counts.

A fact I don’t see out there enough…Trump was not charged in regard
to any of the 197 documents he returned to the archives.
(Also one of the MANY reasons this is different from Biden and Pence….
who returned them and no evidence they knowingly took)

It is worth noting and emphasizing that one party in this case gave the other time and opportunities to rectify the situation that no ordinary citizen would be given. Unequal application of the law in favor of the defendant. Ordinary people (including those currently incarcerated for mishandling national security documents) should be offended by this unequal application of the law. An ordinary citizen would also not be allowed free while waiting for trial under similar circumstances. Another unequal application of the law.
Can anyone imagine any other citizen who has very likely not returned all the relevant national security documents being allowed free while waiting for trial. It is a scandal.

If on any given day in the past 2 years, the defendant in this case had chosen to return the documents in question he could have avoided being indicted. It is the sort of forbearance that no other person in a similar situation would have been given. It is amazing he is at liberty when there are very strong indications he still has some of the national security documents being sought.
The extraordinary leniency that has been shown to him is a scandal.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) said of former President Trump’s indictment that “the emperor has no clothes” and that Republicans should say so.
Bacon told reporters on Tuesday ahead of Trump’s arraignment, in which he pleaded not guilty to the 37 federal charges filed against him, that the former president’s wrongdoing is “obvious” and Republicans must be honest about it.
He said Trump’s conduct in keeping thousands of pieces of secretive information at his Mar-a-Lago property, allegedly showing documents he kept to other people who were not authorized to view them and telling investigators that he returned all the documents they requested when he actually only turned over some of them is indefensible.
“I just think the emperor has no clothes, and we need to have Republicans stand up and say that because, come around after the primary, I guarantee you the other party is going to be saying this,” Bacon said.
Bacon said Republicans refusing to acknowledge the seriousness of the charges facing Trump could cost the party the presidential election in 2024.
