Zimmerman Trial

I really respect but differ on some accounts, Julio's opinion.

If you followed the case and have an opinion, I respect it (except zeets)

But, both "sides" are very ignorant to what actually happened. The black community is jumping to the conclusion that Zimmerman started the fight. (which could or couldn't be true, but there has been no evidence of Zimmerman starting the fight) The media also pegged Zimmerman as a white guy and then kinda glossed over the fact that it wasn't true.

OTOH, I do agree that some people that legally carry put their selves in harms way when they shouldn't. The last thing I ever want to have to do is shoot someone and it's going to be the very last option I have in diffusing the situation. And I certainly am not going to willingly put myself in a situation where I think I may have to use a gun.
 
Zimmerman is white. He's a white Hispanic.

The case shouldn't have been made a race case (though that was obviously the media draw), it should be about certain gun laws and the expected behaviors from gun owners. JMO if you intentionally put yourself in a risky situation (like following someone on a rainy night) then there should be repercussions for using your firearm. Even if it's involuntary manslaughter or something like that. To me the fact that Zimmerman intentionally put himself in a potentially dangerous situation and walks away with his gun is baffling. This wasn't someone just randomly jumping him while he was walking to the store or even just out on a stroll, this wasn't someone breaking into his house. this was someone he chose to follow. And yes Martin is at fault as well he shouldn't have attacked him or he should have ran (though it's easier to say that now than when you're involved with a situation like that) but for me the catalyst of the events that lead to someone dying started when Zimmerman against all better common sense judgement followed someone he considered a potential criminal.

Still wonder why none of Zimmerman's DNA was found on Trayvon Martin. One would think after watching many hours of NCSI or Cold Case , that in order to beat someone so badly at least a trace of the beat-ee would be found on the would be assailant.

That fact still makes me wonder what some fellow Braves fans smoke in the privacy of their homes

85% of Cuba is white. They would probably call themselves white, but they are classified as white hispanics. White, black, yellow, oragne, etc. are physical descriptors. They don't discuss background. Yes George Zimmerman is white. Yes Dolph Lundgren is white, But one is white Hispanic, one is white Nordic.

Mayhave the wrong stats (it was from wikipedia) but over half of Cuba is white. Hispanic is not a race, it's an ethnicity.

For example, being caucasian can mean a variety of things, could mean you're from Europe, could mean you're from Egypt, or so on so forth.
