Given Fried stands to lose a lot of money by putting TJ off, I trust that there is a lot of confidence he will be okay.

sloppy typing.. I wasn't meaning he should or is close to getting it.. just of any of our pitchers that are out (not including I. Anderson) Fried is the only one who would be at risk.. since he went down with forearm tightness.. Wright going down with shoulder is more troublesome because shoulders are hard to figure out and fix.

For sure. Fried concerns me if we offer him a long term extension, but I think he’ll be fine short term. It would not shock me at all if Wright is cooked after this. The news on his shoulder has been stink since we first started hearing about it this spring traininf

Twins have to make a decision on Keuchel by tomorrow. If he isn't added to the Twins active roster, he will be released. I would expect the Braves will have some interest if he is released, but so likely will a lot of teams, including Houston. He's been pretty terrible the last couple of years so I don't expect much, but who knows. Maybe you catch lightning in a bottle for a couple months.

The Astros are the only team I worry about

We beat them before with a lesser roster.

We've already pwned Verlander this year.

The only difference is Olson will hit an upper deck moonshot to right, or Acuña will hit a mammoth Soleresque shot past the train tracks.

Astros are still really ****ing good. Top 4 of JV/Valdez/Javier/Brown is damn good with their bullpen. Plus the offense is good. Not saying we couldnt beat them but would be a tough ass series.

Valdez is the only one really worth worrying about. Javier is a league average pitcher. Brown has pitched like a MOR this year, but he is a rookie. And he's already reached his innings ceiling, so I don't even know that he will be an option to start a game in October. Ditto for JP France.

Their rotation is solid with JV, but they aren't stacked. Healthy Fried, Strider, and 2 of Wright/Morton/Edler? Now that is stacked.

I think Atlanta can and should beat any team they face in a long series, but I completely agree that Astros are going to be terrifying if they can get the engine going. The roster is stacked.

That 4-5 matchup in the AL WC is gonna be crazy. Two of Bal/TB/Tex/Hou in a best of 3.

Folks, this aint the same Astros team of years past. Alvarez is a monster. Kyle Tucker has been great. Altuve is still Altuve. Bregman is above average. Other than that, their lineup can't stack up to ours even remotely. And no, I am not worried about Chase McCormick and his 87.5 EV with a .355 BABIP. He's fool gold and will turn back into the hitter he has been the last 2 years shortly.

It's funny. The 2nd through 5th best team in baseball is all in the AL. Those are also the only teams I felt made impactful moves at the deadline. It's baseball so anything can happen but the path to the WS is the easiest it's ever been imo as far as quality of teams.

If we make it to the World Series, whoever we play will almost certainly be tough. Even if they aren't the most talented team in the AL, they'll be the hottest.

Can’t believe the Angels are going for it when they have Toronto, Atlanta, Seattle, San Francisco, Tampa, Houston, Texas, Cincinnati and Philadelphia in a 30 day span

McCormick's gone deep twice today...
